WELCOME TO TOTS MY TIME
Miami’s Boutique Toddler Program
At TOTS My Time, we believe the earliest years of life deserve thoughtful care and attention. Founded by child development specialists Marcela Teran and Martinica Barrionuevo, with over 30 years of combined experience, our program supports toddlers as they move from home into their first group experiences with confidence and care.
In a world that often pushes children toward premature academics, TOTS offers a different approach rooted in research, compassion, and play. We provide a play-based, sensory-rich environment where children learn through joyful exploration, build strong social skills, and develop emotionally and cognitively at their own pace.
OUR MISSION
The Relationship With The Student Is Our Most Important Teaching Tool
Children learn to trust the world through consistent, warm, and emotionally available relationships with their caregivers. Our teachers intentionally nurture these bonds, creating a safe space where all emotions are accepted and respected.
We believe children and families deserve a comfortable transition. Quality, time, and respect guide our work, especially at the beginning of this journey.
OUR TEAM
Marcela Teran
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY DIRECTOR
We believe children and families deserve a comfortable transition. Quality, time, and respect guide our work, especially at the beginning of this journey.
Alongside Martinica Barrionuevo, Marcela co-created an innovative mommy/daddy-and-me program
focused on early development through play-based, interactive activities. The program empowered
families to understand and support foundational skills during the earliest months of life and
quickly grew in response to strong family engagement and demand.
Today, Marcela leads
the development of TOTS My Time’s curriculum, overseeing fine motor, gross motor, and sensory
programming. She also evaluates each child and designs individualized developmental plans,
supervises teachers, and remains actively involved in daily activities with the children.
Martinica Barrionuevo
SPEECH THERAPY DIRECTOR
Martinica Barrionuevo earned her B.A. and Master’s degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Buenos Aires in 2000, graduating Cum Laude. She completed her residency training and worked in pediatric rehabilitation in Argentina before moving to Miami in 2008.
In 2012, Martinica partnered with Marcela Teran to found My Time Inc., a pediatric center
where she led the speech therapy division. She brings extensive experience in evaluating,
diagnosing, and treating children with speech, language, and communication disorders.
In 2019, Marcela and Martinica created TOTS My Time to offer a sensory-rich, play-based, and
developmentally appropriate program for toddlers and their families. Today, Martinica
supervises and advises the TOTS team on implementing language development strategies
appropriate for the first four years of life.
